🧔 Heart Posture Matters: Aligning With God’s Will

What does the posture of your heart say about where you're headed?

We live in a world that glorifies hustle, independence, and performance. But God looks beyond all of that—straight into our hearts. He’s not impressed by titles, to-do lists, or appearances. What truly matters to Him is the posture of our hearts.

ā€œPeople look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.ā€ 1 Samuel 16:7 (NIV)

A heart posture is the inner attitude with which we approach God, others, and our daily lives. It's not just about being a ā€œgood personā€ it’s about surrender, humility, faith, and obedience. It’s about coming before God with open hands and saying: ā€œNot my will, but Yours be done.ā€

šŸ™ Signs of a Healthy Heart Posture:

  • Surrendered, not striving
You're no longer chasing your own plans but trusting God's timing and direction.

  • Teachable, not prideful
You're willing to be corrected, stretched, and molded—even when it's uncomfortable.

  • Grateful, not grumbling
You choose contentment over comparison and worship over worry.

  • Available, not distracted
You show up for God, even in the small things, with intentionality and expectation.

šŸ’” Reflect: What’s Your Heart Saying?

Take a moment today to pause and ask yourself:

  • Is my heart soft toward God’s voice?

  • Am I seeking His approval or the world’s?

  • Do I trust Him with the areas I can’t control?

If your answer isn’t what you hoped, that’s okay. God’s grace is not performance-based—it’s presence-based. He meets you right where you are, and He’s always more concerned with your direction than your perfection.

✨ Heart Check Challenge:

This week, take 5 minutes each day to realign your heart. Here’s a simple prayer to start:

ā€œLord, posture my heart toward You.
Help me to release control, trust You deeper, and walk in faith.
Remove anything that’s keeping me from fully following You.
In Jesus’ name, amen.ā€

Your purpose, your creativity, and your calling all flow from the condition of your heart. Keep it guarded, soft, and surrendered—because from it flows the wellspring of life (Proverbs 4:23).
